IND 26 21 19 21 87
BOS 25 27 31 28 111

Boston took a quick 9-3 lead, but Indiana somehow managed to win the 1st quarter. However, their small burst of success quickly ended in the second quarter, where the Celtics started gradually building a big lead. Although they only lead by 5 at the end of the half, it was clear the Celtics had this game secured.

Boston proceeded to outscore Indiana in every quarter afterwards, and never looked back en route to a dominant victory. Additionally, the team converted more Field Goals and Three Pointers, while only turning the ball over four times. Indiana, meanwhile turned the ball over 7 times and only earned 1 point off TOs.

In terms of player performances, Jayson Tatum earned the game ball after scoring 47 points and earning 12 rebounds. Additionally, he recorded six assists, two steals, and a block while converting 50% of 3PT shots. Nobody else on the team scored more than 15 points, but it did not matter. The Celtics were able to ride the Tatum train to an easy victory. They’ll continue to do the same in Game 2 and beyond.

As for the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton played fine, but only managed 22 points. His 12 assists and 2 steals certainly helped the effort, but it seems he was the only one making an offensive impact. Myles Turner also played decently, recording 14 points and 11 rebounds in the game. Regardless, neither player’s efforts were enough to win Game 1. The Pacers will need more from the rest of their team if they want to come back in this series.

Additionally, check out some game stats:

With the win, Boston takes a 1-0 lead in the series, which sets the tone for future matchups. They get to play one more game at home before heading to Indiana for Game 3. Ideally, the Celtics want to sweep at home, win at least one game away, and finish things back in Boston. Regardless, a swift victory in this series means more resting time and hopefully less injury.

With the loss, the Pacers now hope to even the series in Game 2. It didn’t help that Boston received some extra rest after their quick victory over the Cavaliers. Winning just one game away should raise both player and fan morale when they head back home for Game 3. There needs to be more effort from players other than Haliburton if they team hopes to beat the Celtics.

In terms of accuracy, we were able to somehow create a custom roster to remove Kristaps Porzingis, who is OUT due to injury. Sometimes the game crashes when using our custom rosters, so we weren’t able to use them in all of the previous sims. However, with only two series going on, it’s much easier to manage if a crash occurs.

Additionally, we like to adjust CPU sliders to create more authentic percentage rates and scoreboards. While not perfect, we’re continuing to make better simulations for you to enjoy. And nevertheless, we’re just having a blast seeing who NBA 2K24 predicts to win these games.
